Hong Kong removed the mandatory Covid-19 hotel and children quarantine, and they implemented a new ‘0+3’ setting for inbound travelers from Monday, 26 September 2022. Travelers wishing to go to Hong Kong now no longer need to show results test negative for Covid-19 before boarding your flight.

Instead, foreign tourists who are entering from international arrivals to Hong Kong, can choose to undergo three days of medical supervision at the home or hotel that allows them to exit. Based on Discover Hong Kong, here are the latest requirements for travelers who visit Hong Kong without hotel quarantine.

  • Setting “0+3”

Mandatory hotel quarantine in Hong Kong will be replaced by independent medical supervision for 3 days.

  • Test and go

Travelers will be required to take a PCR test at the airport, where they will receive an “Amber code”. Then travelers can leave the airport on their own and wait for the results at the lodge or at the hotel of their choice.

  • Pre-arrival test

Visitors now only need to present evidence of a negative pre-departure antigen result collected within 24 hours. Hong Kong residents who are not vaccinated can take flights to Hong Kong, but they will not receive a vaccine permit. There will be no quota limit for the ;Return2hk’ and ‘Come2hk’ Schemes, which apply to people entering from anywhere in Mainland China and Macau.
