Why is The Temperature In The Surgery Room So Cold? This is The Reason!

An Operating Room - Daily Record

In medical procedures, very low temperatures can be a lifesaver for certain disease conditions such as headaches to heart problems. Generally, the surgery room is set to positive pressure, which means the pressure is higher than the outside in order to prevent contaminants from entering the room.

So the air can actually flow out of the surgery room and not the other way around. This can be done by cooling the room until the air density is higher than outdoors.

Large hospitals usually use a good air conditioning system so that the air temperature inside is quite stable. Good air conditioning certainly keeps the environment inside the hospital safe and clean for patients who come, as well as for health workers and hospital employees while working.

The surgery room is made to be cold so that the medical staff does not overheat, where their focus will be disturbed because they will feel uncomfortable.
